Unfortunately, its small engine and lack of power left a bad taste in consumer's mouths. In 1994, the Toyota manufacturer updated the Previa by adding a supercharger; this brought the engine power of the Previa up to its competitor's level. But unfortunately the overall look of the Previa was a little too weird for the American public who had gotten used to the square shaped minivan.
